The main goal is to create an enjoyable, memorable experience for boys and girls providing Intermediate to Advanced level in the fundamentals of tennis and team match play experiences.
Upcoming Signups: Contents within the Upcoming Signups section will only appear when online signups are available. There is a $10.00 late fee to sign up after the scheduled signup dates.
Traveling Tennis is patterned with the USTA Jr. Team Tennis guidelines for Match Play schedule and tournaments.
Jr. Team Tennis is a combination of practice and match play that allows players the opportunity to improve their skills, gain valuable match experience, while enjoying the social benefits of being part of a team. Area tournaments are held throughout the section along with season-ending USTA JTT Area and Section Championship tournaments with the winning teams advancing to the corresponding National Championship.
Signups: February – May
Season: mid-June through end of July
Participant: Boys and Girls
Eligibility: Grades 5 (summer ending 5th) – 12 (18 years of age and younger to be eligible for Junior Tennis)
Includes local matches and coached practices, Area and Section Championship Tournament entries and USTA Memberships along with the uniforms. Additional USTA tournaments may be entered as desired with each player paying those specific entrance fees. Information on these tournaments will be provided thru the season to the participants of the program.

Equipment:
Tennis Racquet, Uniforms, Tennis shoes, Water bottle, and possibly Hat or Visor, and Sunscreen. Contact the Program Director with questions.
Headsup Info:
This program is run during the day. Time availability needed in the past has been 12 noon – 4:00. Monday and Wednesday practices, Tuesday or Thursday Matches 1pm – 3:00pm. Player is responsible for their own transportation to and from courts.
14U teams Practice > M & W 2:30 – 4:00 Matches played on Tuesdays 1:00 – 3:00 (need to be at match site 12:30)
18U teams Practice > M & W 1:00- 2:30 Matches played on Thursdays 1:00 – 3:00 (needing to be at site by 12:30)
Team Creation
Player ratings determine eligibility for Traveling Tennis. Players must play at an intermediate or advanced level of play and teams will be balanced based on ability and male-female ratio.
Grade 5 – 12 eligible, 10 – 15 players/team minimum of 6 players/team, required 3 girls and 3 boys per team
14 & Under intermediate and/or advanced Teams
18 & Under intermediate and/or advanced Teams
Parent and Player Meeting
A mandatory parent and player meeting will be held approximately 2-3 week before the first practice with information given out on schedule timeline, practice and match schedules, possible determination of teams, and tournament info and payment. Looking for an opportunity to help out. Need volunteers for carpool coordinators. Team managers.

Copies are distributed at the beginning of the season and subject to change due to weather, lack of players for match day and additional matches added.

Volunteers keep our RAAA Traveling Tennis program running successfully:
Volunteer positions available for Team managers and Team carpool coordinators.
Program Director: Coordinates the entire program, monitoring registrations and recruiting volunteers for the various positions within the program. Provides information about the Traveling Tennis program on the RAAA website and coordinates master game and practice schedules. (position available for summer 2013-if interested please contact Lynette Hatlen. Shadow this posistion thru the summer of 2012)

Home Courts : Rosemount High School tennis courts at 3335 142nd Street West, Rosemount courts for all practices and home matches. Locations for away sites will be given with schedules. Some possible AWAY sites are listed below. Need to be at site location, Home or Away, ½ hour before match schedule.
